Too Far, Too Costly, Too Confusing? Tell us what makes accessing health and care in Cornwall difficult

Across Cornwall, people face different barriers when trying to access health and care services, whether that’s transport, cost, digital access, long waits, caring responsibilities, or simply not knowing where to turn. For some, these barriers are minor inconveniences. For others, they mean going without the care they need.

These barriers don’t affect everyone equally. Some communities and groups face greater inequalities than others, and some people feel their concerns aren’t heard or taken seriously, whether because of their age, background, disability, or circumstances. We particularly want to hear from people whose experiences are often missed in surveys like this.

Healthwatch Cornwall has launched a new campaign that explores the inequalities and barriers to accessing healthcare. We want to hear from anyone who has accessed or tried to access health or care services in Cornwall (from GPs, hospitals, and community services to dentists and pharmacies) whatever your experience has been.

Take the survey: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/SP8JZX/

Your experiences will help us understand what’s making it harder for people to get the care they need, and where inequalities exist across different communities in Cornwall.

Your feedback will shape recommendations to local health and care services and decision-makers. Every response matters.
